Is IWOM Hunting Suit the ultimate cold weather suit? It’s a bold statement to make when comparing insulated body suits. I have spent over 35 years in Wisconsin winters pursuing deer, and many outings have been in either below-zero or single-digit temps. I like to call this suit the defender against the cold! Let me share my experiences and reasons for choosing this suit over other outerwear for my cold-weather hunting.
I have first-hand experience with two of the three on this list. My first suit was Heater Body Suit (HBS). I hunted two seasons in this suit; my hunting style then was from ladder stands, hang on, and climbers.
The HBS suit kept me warm; it did not lack warmth. I never really cared for the method of putting the suit on. The suit’s style prohibited me from wearing it on my climb up, and it had to be put on while I was on the stand.
Heater Body Suit has a flaw; to shoot, you must unzip the garment, and guess what happens? You lose the heat that had been retained in the suit.
The final deciding factor as to why I switched from Heater Body Suit to an IWOM Hunter suit was that I changed my hunting style; I became a saddle hunter.
When you compare insulated body suits, you will think they are similar. And that is a very true assumption. They are suits designed to allow you to wear fewer layers of clothing and keep you warm, making your cold weather sit easier.
Let me share key features I enjoyed about the IWOM suit that I believe make this the best-insulated body suit on the market.
Yes, this suit is waterproof, and I want to stay dry when I have to sit in cold snow weather. This feature will allow you more days in the field. I find myself hunting more and more on those less-than-desirable days, and waterproof features allow me to get in the field.
Windproof is a feature I often look for in my hunting garments; keeping the wind off your body drastically increases your ability to stay warm.
Exterior pockets, I use these to warm hands and carry gear. So much room in the pockets that I often can fit any of my gear, such as GPS, phone, flashlight, release, and scent, all into the pockets, and I don’t need to bring a backpack with me. So it allows me to pack in lighter!
Another great feature that replaces another item that I often use when hunting is the suit has a built-in hand warmer muff. Again, this is less gear I must carry with me! It also has a built-in face mask you can wear or tuck aside.
These features were designed to make you much lighter, with fewer layers and less gear to carry.
The suit is meant to fit a bit loose to allow the heat trapped within to flow down to your legs and feet. The sleeves have a built-in thumb hole cuff that took a little bit to get used to. These cuffs help seal out any weather.
You can choose to wear the suit with the attached hood; you have options to seal yourself up as much as you want from head to toe. What is nice about this suit is that you can button down the hatches for ultimate warmth and protection from the elements or open things up a bit and vent some heat. You have control over your body temperature. The IWOM XT Hunting Suit replaces your big bulky jacket and bibs, the various heavy face covering, hand muff, and the need to wear thick heavy insulated boots that make climbing trees challenging.
The IWOM company believes in its product so much that they offer a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, a great opportunity to ensure that it fits you and your hunting style.

]]>"Insulated bodysuits are the number one way to stay warm when hunting in extremely cold weather. They’re soft, silent, and incredibly effective. While heated gear has its place, it pales in comparison when it comes to keeping your entire body warm. In order to find the best of the best, we reviewed and compared the top three full-body hunting suits on the market. We considered price, warmth, and effectiveness.

My thoughts on the IWOM XT, specifically from a usability and logistics standpoint for mobile deer hunting. For saddle hunting use, I performed a modification that gives a little better upper body mobility when drawing.

I'm reviewing the IWOM XT that is a one piece full body hunting suit that was designed for any condition from 40 degrees above to -40 degrees below. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!

]]>With only a few months a year available to hunt, I want to make the most of each one of them! This is why the Iwom Hunting System Is a must have in my closet.
Rewind to the 2017 deer season and you'll find me in tears as I left deer camp due to the cold. I live in the North Georgia area. Here we suffer through intense humidity, so bad you could pass out just standing outside on the wrong day. On the other hand, we don't have a ton of snow and cold. So when it gets that cold , us southern folk tend to be thrown off. I was in my deer stand in Alabama when the first snow came down, my fiance at work but not too far. Little did I know that would be my last weekend deer hunting. Soon came an unexpected winter, and it killed my hopes from there.
My mind was willing but my body not able.
With 4 degree weather, it was an hour or more that passed coming down from my tree stand. Once down, another 30 minutes or so to be able to head back to camp. All because I waited as long as I could, fighting the cold, but ultimately lost. With the Alabama season longer than most, I ended my season nearly two months early because my body and cold gear couldn't beat the winter. From that time, I set my sights to being ready for next season.
Here is where IWOM came in to save the day!
I was given the opportunity to try the system and give my honest review last year. I am happy to say 2018 deer season was one to remember for me. Logging over 67 days hunting to be exact! I killed my first solo hunting buck and sat through rain, cold, even sleet! So I want to breakdown why this system is a must have to every hunter!
The day I killed my seasons quality buck, the cold was harsh and the rain unforgiving. My whole season was in. nut shell. As my son and I sat quietly in our blind, he became tired. I luckily had my stadium IWOM suit with me! The ground was wet, the wind was strong but my son found comfort in the IWOM fleece ...and literally fell asleep. This was insane, something you might have had to see to believe. Even in these conditions, my comfort loving son had no thoughts of the environment , no cold, no wind! With my child warm and happy, time made no difference to me. Soon after he fell asleep, I sealed the deal on a rutting buck and thus ended my buck hunting in Georgia. Had my son not been content....I may have left early and missed this buck!
Why choose IWOM?
With various products that may be similar on the market, none truly compare to IWOM and here's why!
-3M Thinsulate technology ( 120g arms ,/ 150g body)
-Windproof Polyester brushed-tricot silent shell
-40 degree temperature rated
-Tree Stand harness easy access.
-No need to unzip to use arms.
-Suitable for tree stands and ground blinds.
-Built in hand warmer, Face mask, Full coverage hood.
-WATERPROOF
-Multifunctional : With Feet outside of suit, or zipped inside.
Final thoughts
The IWOM system can be used by ANYONE, treestand, stalk , or ground hunter. The ultimate cold weather gear, every cold weather wear piece in one! I choose to zip the bottom half , insulting my feet, because I am vulnerable here.
This season I was actually hunting barefoot in my suit! Not that I had to because this part of the system is made to wipe clean on the inside since boots are muddy usually. I never once worried about the wind or rain and IWOM proved that I was right by having me covered through it all! With two kids and entering my 12th year of college in nursing, my budget is tight!! I no longer look to buy cold weather gear ( which is costly) because I know I can slide on my Iwom suit and be warm and dry in all conditions.
With multiple seasons behind me, my IWOM suit still looks new!! Why is that so big of a deal? Because Bianca will find the one briar patch in the woods, and go right though it! I have no mercy on my gear and I'm happy to say that IWOM proved stronger than my brutal nature! When asked what's my #1 closet piece I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT, I answer with IWOM.

]]>How do you stay warm in the the stand? The Lamb brothers had enough of freezing in the stand and decided to spend the money on two suits designed to keep you warm. Our personal, non-biased thoughts on each are below:
Heater Body Suit
Great suit that keeps you plenty warm in freezing temps. The design has no arms, resulting in both advantages and disadvantages. You can move your arms inside of the suit without animals seeing your movement, which is great if you’re a fidgety person. However, when the time comes and you need to shoot or film you need to unzip the suit to free your arms. The zipper is extremely quiet and this hasn’t been an issue, but it’s definitely not as efficient as the IWOM suit.
IWOM XT Hunting Suit
The IWOM XT suit has many key advantages, including: built-in arms, a rubber waterproof foot-bed for your boots, quiet zippers and a double hood just to name a few. Our personal favorite feature is the built-in hand warmer. The hand warmer keeps your hands warm in -25 degree weather with no gloves on. You can also wear the IWOM as a jacket with the bottom portion buckled around your waist, this is a huge plus for walking to and from your stand/blind.
Both suits are quiet and do their job to keep us plenty warm, but if we were to purchase again we would both get the IWOM suit. The features of the IWOM heavily outweigh the Heater Body Suit, while keeping you just as warm!"

Thanks IWOM
I am really regretting not getting a photo of the IWOM and my buck together. I shot a nice 11pt last rifle season in Wisconsin on opening morning. You have made a great product! I sold my Heater Body Suit for the IWOM and love it!
Thanks! Jay

"I am in love! Bought 2 suits to try. I've tried everything to keep warm but my feet always get cold no matter what I do .went out this morning in 17-degree weather and was totally warm and toasty with just a light jacket on underneath the suit. I am totally stoked to get out there again and not be cold. I have three young Sons we all hunt and they have been miserable when it's cold so I'm totally excited for them. I just can't believe I waited so long to purchase these, it's going to be a totally new experience for me and my sons. best hunting gear purchase ever!"

]]>"First off I want to start by saying I've never written a review in my life. But I enjoyed this piece of hunting equipment so much I felt it was necessary to contact someone so I could get my word out to the public. I've hunted all over from Canada to Mexico and have had cold temperatures ruin hunts in the past because you get too cold and can't enjoy being out there for the long necessary hours. I actually googled Heater body suit because the temperatures in Kentucky were going to be in the teens when I was going on my hunt. On google I saw IWOM underneath it and researched both companies and found IWOM to have better reviews. I then went on the website and saw all the details put into the IWOM and it was a no-brainer on which suit was for me, especially being a bow hunter. It was 17 degrees for a couple days and I did not get cold one single time. I couldn't believe how much I loved the suit and how comfortable I was! I have told all my friends about this and would recommend IWOM to any hunter. It's worth it's weight in gold of you ask me. It will help with young kids and new hunters if they can go out in any weather and be comfortable. As you can see my Kentucky trip was a success and I was warm and toasty in my IWOM when I harvested this 184 5/8 whitetail. As you can see in the picture EVERYTHING was frozen solid in ice! Can't thank IWOM enough!
Sincerely customer for life "

]]>Boar hunt was a success. Had a solid hit in the shoulder but not enough lungs. Still had to track him most of the afternoon. Then he went into the thick stuff just before dark so we backed out and got someone on each side of us. 50 yards into it here he comes. 5 shots later he rolls a free throw shot from us. I guess I get to keep my nick name of lucky. Great time and a great hunt. #IWOM#innerwarmthoutermobility#iwomouterwear

"Spending well over 100 days afield annually doing what we love, our gear is what allows us to spend all our time in the elements day in and day out. We rely on it to get us through the day, every day. Today we are reviewing a vital piece of gear to battle cold weather, the IWOM XT. We shot this video during a Northwest Ohio whitetail hunt at temps hovering around zero."
